Meet our PT Student: Melissa Cummings

Meet Melissa Cummings, a Physical Therapy student at Franklin Pierce University. Melissa is on her first clinical rotation here at Back in Motion Physical Therapy, and will be spending the next few weeks following PT Ryan Martin to satisfy her outpatient clinical.

When asked why she decided to become a Physical Therapist, Melissa said, “I’ve been involved in athletics since I was young and as I accumulated more injuries, I became more interested in the human body and the rehabilitation process. I also spent a lot of time co-treating my dad before he passed, which further exposed me to the field of PT.”

Melissa is expected to graduate in 2020 with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. While she will be doing many other clinical rotations, she said that her favorite thing about doing her clinical at Back in Motion so far is ”the balanced professional-friendly environment. Each day is like stepping into another episode of The Office! I was immediately welcomed by everyone and not just seen as a student, but respected as if I worked here. Anyone would be fortunate to be associated with this branch and staff in any capacity.“

Back in Motion is proud to be able to supervise and teach Melissa as she pursues a career in Physical Therapy and we wish her the best of luck!
